About Dr. Sommerville

Dr. Sommerville is a graduate of Harvard University and received his MD from Columbia University. He completed his residency in Neurology followed by two years of fellowship training in Neuromuscular Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. He is board-certified in Adult Neurology, Neuromuscular Medicine, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology.

Before joining NEI in 2023, he practiced neuromuscular medicine for 11 years as a neurology professor at Washington University School of Medicine, teaching neurology residents while seeing some of the most challenging cases in the area. He has been named on the St. Louis Magazine Top Doctors list since 2019 and the Castle Connolly Top Doctors list since 2022.

Dr. Sommerville looks forward to joining Dr. Phillips and Dr. Silverman at NEI where he will continue to apply his diagnostic skills for the benefit of his patients and referring physicians.
